Meet Our Team

  • Dr. Joseph C. Olson

Dr. Olson and his wife Lacey have four children, Rachel, Lilly, Ethan and Jacob. They all love Brigham City and all enjoy being involved in community events and activities. Since moving here in 2012, Dr. Olson has had the opportunity to coach several times for his kids’ city league softball and baseball teams. He had the opportunity to participate in two musicals at the local Heritage Theater, which he had never done before but discovered he really enjoyed. Currently, he sits on the Brigham City Council. The Olsons love camping, hiking, and swimming, but adapt well to winter with plenty of snowball fights and movie nights.

For his education, Dr. Olson received a bachelor’s degree in Russian Language and History from Brigham Young University while completing all the Pre-Med requirements for optometry school. He was then able to attend Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, where both his Grandfather and Uncle attended for their optometry degrees.

After graduating in 2012, Dr. Olson began to practice primary eye care while developing specialty training in fitting specialty contact lenses. His most recent endeavor is to build a viable dry eye clinic to address this rapidly growing issue in the eye care world. He is also excited to be involved in an international clinical study related to macular degeneration.

Dr. Olson’s favorite thing about being an optometrist is getting to know people. He considers many of his patients his friends. If there is any way he can solve their eye related struggles, he will, and he has developed excellent relationships with several local ophthalmologists for cases that can not be solved by conventional means. He has a passion for what he does, and looks forward to many years of practice in Brigham City.

  • Anecia Jensen, ABOC
    Optician

Anecia is the oldest of 4 girls and was raised in Perry. She has always had a love for sports and activities participating in gymnastics, competition soccer, and cheer. She became a cheerleader for Box Elder High School where her love for sports grew even more. She enjoyed cheering on the home team in basketball, football, and her favorite, wrestling. In 2006 her team won the American School Spirit Award for the entire country, where they were recognized for community service, school spirit, and academics. Anecia graduated in 2007 and has worked in the Optical field since.

In 2010 she completed her American Board of Opticianry Certification. She joined Eye & Vision Care in 2012 and has spent the last 9 years here getting to know the patients personally and helping them with all of their eye care needs. She is now the Optical Manager and works directly with the labs we use along with frame and contact lens reps.

In 2011 she married her best friend, Michael who she had gone to school with beginning in 5th grade and started dating in their senior year of high school. They enjoy cheering on some of their favorite teams including the Las Vegas Raiders, New York Yankees, and of course, the Utah Jazz. They make a great team parenting 2 beautiful girls ages 7 and 5, and plan on cheering them on in everything they do.

  • Amanda Nicholas ABOC
    Optician

Amanda has been with Brigham City Eye and Vision Care since 2019. Amanda is very service-oriented to all customers, but specializes in taking care of children and families–it’s a highlight of her day to help little “nuggets” find the perfect frames and lenses for their cute faces.

She is happily married to her sweetheart, with three kids at home and three more out on their own. Coaxed to Utah from Arkansas by her husband, she previously lived in Lehi before seeking a quieter, happier life in Brigham City. She loves going to the beach, hiking, exploring, and going to the beach. Did we mention she loves going to the beach?

  • Carmen Garcia
    Ophthalmic Technician

Carmen has been with Brigham City Eye and Vision Care for one year. She brings with her an enthusiastic, young approach to serving each of our patients who are pre-screened. She also trains patients who wish to transition from glasses to contacts by teaching them the best techniques for their eyes. It is that little bit of extra effort and compassion that makes Carmen’s patients feel at home in our office, especially with Spanish-speaking patients as she translates. She is currently studying and planning on completing the NCLE certification.

Carmen graduated from Box Elder High School, comes from a large local family, and lives for her four-year-old daughter. She is engaged to be married. When not working, Carmen enjoys shopping and crafting of all kinds. One only has to meet Carmen to realize she has a real “eye” for makeup and beauty care.

  • Karianne Ormond
    Receptionist

When you think of client service, it is best described as Receptionist, Karianne. A graduate of Box Elder High School, the athletic, driven mother of three boys has a long business career of service. Now as a team member for Brigham City Eye and Vision Care she carried that drive in her belief that every patient is the most important one and strives to ensure they leave as happy as they arrived. Her attention to detail and helping patients through the entire process is what makes her work fulfilling.

Karianne enjoys many hobbies in the great outdoors and with all that she does, she still has time to help others. She lives by one of her favorite quotes.

“Those who are happiest are those who do the most for others.” – Booker T. Washington
